The headline might have shocked you and made you say This is a lie! But if the sources are to be believed, Ajay Devgn let go off Vishal Bharadwaj’s ambitious project Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola for money as he was paid a whopping sum to star in Ashwini Dhir’s Son of Sardar.

A source informed a famous Indian entertainment portal (FilmiTadka) that Viacom 18 who bought the rights of Son Of Sardar from Ajay, is offering him Rs. 75 Crores to star in it. Devgan also has a 50% partnership in the deal. The other half has landed in N R Pachisia’s comapny’s lap. Apparently, Viacom’s officials wanted to go on the floors with the film in November itself instead of previously decided March. This clashed with the shoot of Vishal Bharadwaj’s film. The source revealed that Ajay found Son Of Sardar to be economically more sound and hence opted out of Bharadwaj’s film.

Not to be left behind, Vishal Bharadwaj has immediately roped in two A-list stars for his ambitious project in Ajay Devgan’s place. The source claimed that an official announcement will be made next week.

Interestingly, earlier Ajay couldn’t stop raving about Vishal Bharadwaj’s film. He claimed that Vishal is an incredible director who has the ability to bring the best out of every actor. When Vishal told him he was interested to make a comedy and narrated the script to him, he not only agreed to be part of it as an actor but also in the capacity of a producer. Guess Ajay didn’t anticipate his good fortune and Viacom’s hefty offer standing in his way and Vishal’s film then! Well, Ajay, it’s great that you are enjoying the best time of you career but it doesn’t mean people who gave you the hype need to be weighed down by money!
